6-Day Big Five Safari, Materuni Waterfalls & Coffee Tour

Tanzania’s northern safari circuit stands among the most famous and most visited wildlife regions worldwide. Six days of exploring these phenomenal national parks expose visitors to more than Africa’s prized Big Five in the Serengeti. You can spend coveted moments beneath a baobab in the tranquil Tarangire National Park or on the lip of the prehistoric Ngorongoro Crater. A chance to Swimsuits will come in handy because after visiting the waterfall, you can cool off in the natural pool!

Arrival in Arusha

Upon your arrival at either Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, you’ll be greeted by a representative from Masai Jungle Adventure who will escort you to your hotel. This initial day allows you to settle in and rest after your journey. Later, you’ll meet with our safari expert who will provide detailed information about the upcoming safari, including safety guidelines, wildlife expectations, and cultural insights.

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Pick you up from your hotel at 8:00 am and after meet your guide, we will drive to Tarangire (2hr drive) famous for its diverse landscape. The park is particularly known for the abundance of Ancient Baobab trees & having the largest concentration of elephants in the whole country and provides unique chances to observe the interaction between elephant families. We will do a game drive through the park depending on where they are reported sightings of animals (mostly predators, lions, cheetah & leopards as they are harder to spot) as herbivores (giraffes, wildebeest, zebras etc. are plenty to see through the park.

Later on will go to the river picnic site and enjoy the beautiful view of the river & animals while having lunch, small monkeys & baboons will try to scare you of your lunch but there is nothing to worry about.

After lunch will proceed with the game drive and exit the park around 5:30 pm where will head to our accommodation farm of dream lodge for dinner & sleep.

Day 2: Tarangire to Serengeti NP

After breakfast, you will drive from karatu to Serengeti which takes 4-5 hours (includes all stops) as it transits through the Ngorongoro conservation area. Will briefly stop at the gate and view point to look at the breathtaking view of the crater, duration: 20 minutes.

Arrive in late afternoon and do a game drive in Seronera (center of Serengeti) while we proceed doing a game drive to late evening and experience the sunset in Serengeti while having close view of wild animals lucky enough seeing a predator hunting or on a kill, later heading to Central Serengeti luxury tented camp.

Day 3: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

After an early breakfast will go on an early game drive south of Serengeti toward Seronera & eventually will exit the Serengeti in the late afternoon heading to Ngorongoro rhino lodge with crater view (2hrs drive) near rim of Ngorongoro crater also you will visit Maasai village, its optional to visit and learn something. Duration 20-45 minutes, This is an optional visit included in the price.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater tour

After an early breakfast, we will depart from our lodge for a drive via the Rift Valley to the cooler regions of the Ngorongoro highlands. Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest volcanic caldera, was formed by a massive volcano, higher than Kilimanjaro, that exploded two to three million years ago. It is almost 20km wide and approximately 600m deep. The crater is known for its large variety of wildlife, including the Big Five—lions, elephants, buffalos, rhinos, and leopards. It is well-known as one of the natural wonders of the world. In addition to the Big Five, the various springs attract wildebeest, gazelle, reedbuck, and more than 500 bird species. We will have our scrumptious lunch at the picnic site before enjoying more game viewing in the crater. We will leave the crater in the afternoon, driving up the steep winding track on our way back to Arusha.

Day 5: Materuni waterfalls & Coffee Tour

Experience Tanzania’s natural environment during this all-day trip to Materuni and Coffee Farm Tour. For adventurous, cultural, and active travelers in the area, it is perfect. Take a hike to the Materuni Waterfalls and stop for a cool swim afterward. After that, visit a nearby farm to discover more about Tanzania’s coffee sector. After a full refreshment later you will drive to the airport for departure or back to arusha that may depends on your schedule.
